Where? Bower Parkway, Irmo, SC (In the Columbiana Grande Shopping center!)

It’s taken a little longer to bake than expected, but the timer has finally gone off, and we’re ready to put the frosting on the cake! You’re in for an amazing treat, and we have really been turning up the heat to bring you an even better cropping experience. The food will of course be amazing, and we will be having all kinds of goodies! You asked for a three day crop, and we are delivering. New scrapbooking lines and products are arriving daily, and after our amazing trip to CHA, you won’t believe all that we have cooked up! Times? Well, let’s just say we have the whole place to ourselves, and we have the only key. The “official” times are: Friday 9am-12 midnight, Saturday 9am-12 midnight, and Sunday 9 am-9pm. But you might be able to “sweet talk” us into letting you crop till you drop!

We have so many tasty treats planned, and here’s a peek at one of them:

We are going to have a cupcake bakeoff! To enter, bring 6 (or more… you know how we love our sweets!) of your favorite cupcake recipe. There will be judges, and a truly Mouth watering grand prize for the winner!

The cost for this scrumptious event? 1 day= $ 40, 2 days= $ 70, or 100 for all three! Lunch and dinner are included in the price, plus snacks and drinks.

When you sign up, if sending in a check please fill out the attached form and mail with your payment. If paying by phone, please email us your completed form, and call Shannon to make your payment. Registration form and deposit due by February 15th, and the remainder due by March 1st.

What is the difference?

There are differences in Scrapbook Retreats, Scrapbook Weekends, Scrapbook Classes and Scrapbook Crops. Though they are all similar there are some distinct differences. If you’ve been scrapbooking for a while, you know how easy it is to get burnout and lack of motivation to create pages.  It seems we still tend to pile up a stack of photos just waiting to be placed in an album, but we haven’t found just the right paper or embellishments yet, or maybe we can’t decide what scrapbooking techniques to use on them.  Here are a few ideas to help overcome scrapbooking burnout.

1. Learning a new technique can spark your creativity.  Just find some photos and try out the technique.  It’s always best to try a new scrapbooking method as soon after you learn it as possible.

2.  Is your photograph backlog keeping you from starting to scrapbook?  Just choose a single photograph to be your focal point on a page layout.  Just starting can get rid of scrapbookers’ burnout. 

3.  Organize and clean out your photos.  Start going through your photographs and get rid of the blurry or poor quality ones.  Your backlog will start shrinking.

4. Your supply stash can bring inspiration.  Organize your supplies, and see if you are inspired to mix embellishments or papers in a new way.

5.  Scrapbooking magazines are designed to bring inspiration.  Read your favorite magazine today for new techniques or the latest products. 

6.  Enroll in a scrapbooking class.  The excitement of taking a class can often spark your interest to start scrapbooking again.

7.  Plan a scrapbooking crop for your friends.  If you don’t want to plan one yourself, attend a crop at your local scrapbooking store.

8. Browsing your local scrapbook or craft store may encourage you to start scrapbooking again.  Try buying a scrapbooking kit that has everything you need to make a complete album.  

9. Stop trying to be perfect. Thinking every page you create must be a work of art only stops you before you ever get started.  Give yourself permission to make a less than perfect page layout. 

10. Sell or give away some of your scrapbooking supplies. Scaling down can help you overcome supply overload.  Sometimes too many choices can keep you from taking action. 

11.  Try it page by page.  Don’t set a goal of creating a scrapbooking album a night.  

12.  Sign up for a scrapbooking challenge.  You can find these online in scrapbooking community message boards.  Joining the competition and excitement will start your scrapbooking creativity going again.

13.  Join the digital scrapbooking craze.  It’s a lot less messy than traditional scrapbooking.

14.  Check out the message boards and galleries at online scrapbooking communities.  The excitement of the members and seeing their ideas and pages provides plenty of inspiration.  

15. Show off your scrapbooks. When was the last time you pulled out your scrapbooks when family comes to visit or let your children read through your albums?  When you see all the pages you have designed, you just may be motivated to create some more.
