Getting all your supplies organized can be a great help when it comes to scrapbooking. There’s probably nothing more frustrating than having to search for just the right piece of paper or rubber stamp when you’re trying to create scrapbooking page layouts.  Many people find that investing in scrapbook storage cabinets can be a tremendous help, but before you run out and buy the most expensive one or the first one you see, take some time to shop around and make sure you get one that’s perfect for you.

Some scrapbooking storage cabinets actually look like a piece of furniture for your home.This is a plus if your scrapbooking storage cabinets are going to be placed in a living room or other main room of the house, but these cabinets usually do cost more.  If you plan on putting your cabinet in a closet or don’t really care about its appearance then you might consider shopping for something a bit more affordable. 

No matter what the appearance of scrapbook storage cabinets you need it for organizing scrapbooking supplies in a functional and practical way. You will want to check what features the cabinet has.Do you like to add all your own elements and embellishments to your layouts?  Then you need many small sections and room for containers to hold all your stickers, stamps, and so on.Some scrapbooking storage cabinets are nothing more than cabinets with shelves. This works well for your cardstock, but it’s not very functional for your small embellishments.

Sometimes you can convert other shelving units you may already have into scrapbook storage cabinets.  Usually you need more shelves than they already have because you want to organize all your papers.  You can easily add some additional shelves in between the ones you already have.Many scrapbookers also discover they can design their own scrapbook storage cabinets with small containers appropriately sized to store their embellishments. You can use some strong glue or you can use a drill and permanently attach these to the doors of the cabinet or walls.  Making up your own containers can be a fun project.You can create large envelopes out of cardstock or decorative empty food containers, like margarine tubs, to store some items.  By converting your own scrapbook storage cabinets you can make something that really works for you personally.
